Maruti Suzuki India Limited has partnered with the Rajasthan government to make driving license tests more accurate and transparent. The company will set up 21 automated driving test tracks across 20 major cities in the state, including Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Kota, Bikaner, and Alwar. This project is part of Maruti Suzuki’s corporate social responsibility program and was officially announced on August 31, 2025, with Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and Deputy Chief Minister Prem Chand Bairwa present.
These automated test tracks will be equipped with high-definition cameras, RFID sensors, real-time analytics, and integrated IT systems to conduct computerized driving tests for two-wheelers and light motor vehicles. The system is designed to follow Central Motor Vehicle Rules and remove human bias from evaluations.
Deputy Chief Minister Prem Chand Bairwa said the initiative supports Rajasthan’s 10-year Road Safety Action Plan, making the licensing process fairer and more reliable. Rahul Bharti, Senior Executive Officer for Corporate Affairs at Maruti Suzuki, added that driver skill is crucial for road safety, and technology can help ensure accurate testing.
The automated tracks will use advanced analytics to monitor driver performance and confirm that only qualified drivers receive licenses. This effort is part of Maruti Suzuki’s larger road safety program, which focuses on five key areas: Education, Evaluation, Enforcement, Engineering, and Emergency Care.
Maruti Suzuki already operates 45 automated driving test tracks in India, including 17 in Uttar Pradesh, 14 in Delhi, seven in Bihar, four in Uttarakhand, two in Haryana, and one in Jammu. With the new Rajasthan tracks, the total number of automated centers nationwide will reach 66.
In addition to test tracks, the company has set up eight Institutes of Driving and Traffic Research and 23 Road Safety Knowledge Centers across various states. Maruti Suzuki also provides traffic safety management systems with real-time monitoring and first responder training to commercial drivers and other road users to improve emergency care.
This partnership aims to make driving tests more transparent, reduce errors, and promote road safety across Rajasthan while contributing to Maruti Suzuki’s ongoing mission to educate and protect drivers on Indian roads.
