Expert Shares Hepatitis Tips at Graphic Era Workshop

Dehradun, July 28: On the occasion of World Hepatitis Day, a special workshop was held at Graphic Era Hill University to raise awareness about hepatitis. The event focused on how to prevent and manage this serious disease, and students were encouraged to help spread the message in society.

The Chief Guest of the workshop was Dr. Sachin Dev Munjal, Senior Consultant and Head of Gastroenterology at Graphic Era Institute of Medical Sciences. He explained that hepatitis can be completely controlled with early diagnosis and proper treatment. He spoke to students about the causes, symptoms, and how testing plays a key role in timely treatment. Dr. Sachin also stressed the importance of cleanliness, a healthy lifestyle, and timely vaccination to keep the disease away.

Dr. Sachin motivated students to stay informed and share the correct information about hepatitis in their communities. He said that educated youth can play a big role in fighting the spread of this disease.

As part of the event, paramedical students gave speeches and performed street plays to spread awareness. These performances focused on the importance of testing, prevention, and treatment of hepatitis in a creative and impactful way.

In the street play competition, the team “Give the Shot, Fight Hepatitis” (Komal Kanti, Pooja Bora, Sunny Raj) won first place. “The Last Shot” (Anamika, Muskan, Saloni, Supriya) came second, and the team of Kashish, Harsh, Heer, and Kanak secured third place.

The workshop was organised by the Paramedical Department of Graphic Era Deemed University. The event was anchored by Aditi Patel. Also present were Dr. Rinku Yadav, Head of the Paramedical Department, along with faculty members Dr. Tania Goyal and Dr. Ananya Barnwal. Many students also took part in the event.

The workshop successfully educated students about hepatitis and encouraged them to take simple but important steps to protect themselves and others from the disease.
