Samsung has launched its latest foldable phones—the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7—in India. These devices come with several upgrades, including a lighter design, brighter screens, and new AI features. A new Galaxy Flip 7 FE model has also been introduced as a more affordable foldable option.
Galaxy Z Fold 7: Lighter, Bigger, and Smarter
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is Samsung’s thinnest and lightest foldable yet. It now weighs just 215 grams, which is even lighter than the Galaxy S25 Ultra. The phone is only 8.9mm thick, making it easier to use with one hand.
The cover display has grown from 6.3 to 6.5 inches, with a 21:9 aspect ratio and Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 protection. Inside, the Fold 7 features a larger 8-inch AMOLED display with 2600 nits peak brightness and a 120Hz refresh rate.
Samsung has also improved the hinge with a new “Armor FlexHinge,” which is thinner and more durable. The phone uses strong Armor Aluminum for the frame and hinge, adding extra toughness.
Inside, it runs on the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite chip and comes with Galaxy AI tools. The camera system has been upgraded, too—it now has a 200MP main camera (up from 50MP in the Fold 6), along with a 12MP ultra-wide and 10MP telephoto lens.
It offers three storage options:
- 12GB RAM + 256GB
- 12GB RAM + 512GB
- 16GB RAM + 1TB
The 4400mAh battery remains the same as last year, with 25W fast charging (50% in 30 minutes). The phone is rated IP48 for water resistance.
Colour options include Blue Shadow, Silver Shadow, Jet Black, and an exclusive Mint on Samsung.com.
Galaxy Z Flip 7 and FE
The Flip 7 has the largest cover screen ever on a Flip device at 4.1 inches and features smart upgrades. It runs Android 16 with One UI 8 and includes many AI-powered features. The Flip 7 FE, a more budget-friendly option, was also announced but not yet reviewed.
Both phones mark a bold step in Samsung’s foldable journey.
