Maruti Suzuki is one of India’s top carmakers, but some of its global models offer more advanced features than what Indian buyers get. From better safety tech to improved engines, global versions of popular cars like the Swift, Fronx, and Jimny have extra benefits. Here’s a look at three such cars.
Suzuki Swift AWD
In some countries, the Suzuki Swift comes with AllGrip Auto, a four-wheel-drive system that activates automatically when the car loses grip. This version also offers features like adaptive cruise control, dual-sensor brake support, lane keep assist, and lane departure prevention. It is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine combined with a mild-hybrid system, making it safer and more efficient.
Suzuki Fronx with ADAS
While India may soon get a Fronx with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), no official launch has been confirmed yet. Meanwhile, in other markets, the Fronx already includes features like blind spot monitoring, dual-sensor brake support, rear cross traffic alert, and lane keep assist. It is powered by a 1.5-litre K15C engine with a smart hybrid system, offering both power and fuel savings.
Suzuki Jimny ADAS
The Jimny sold in India, especially the 5-door version, lacks many advanced features. But the global version comes with lane departure warning, autonomous emergency braking, and more. It uses the same 1.5-litre petrol engine but adds better safety for drivers and passengers.
In short, while Maruti Suzuki cars are reliable and affordable in India, their international versions provide more comfort and safety, leaving many Indian buyers wishing for the same features at home.
